01. Travel advice is subjective, misleading and often wrong. You can have the most wonderful experiences in places no one recommends you or even advises you not to go.

02. If you are overly concerned about safety just don't go. However, if you do go, don't be an idiot.

03. Every place can teach you something (if you are open to it).

04. Be a flaneur. Don't plan too much

05. Hang out with locals if you can (or better get drunk with them).

06. Accept and appreciate the place for what it is not what you hope it will be.
